QUATRE

This month was great! It started with Jeff's birthday on November 5! The big 31!!!

Then my mom came into town for a few days
She took me and the girls to Fort Myers, Florida to meet up with my dad who was there for a business conference. We had a great time!
We played at the beach and lounged at the pool, it was so nice to spend some time in the sun!

The last day was a little cloudy so we went to a cute little zoo in Naples, Florida it was super fun! Mila got to feed a giraffe and some cute baby ducks.. She loved looking at all of the animals.

By the end of the trip we were all a little exhausted! Traveling with two babies is a lot of work, but it was so nice to spend some time with grandma and grandpa
My mom flew back with us, so we got to spend a few more days with Her which was awesome! Mila is getting pretty good at saying "ma ma ma" and "pa pa pa" both girls did great on the flight (it helped that they gave us each our own row both flights!)

We ended the month with a fun Thanksgiving, spent with our friends the Hewards and some of their extended family who live in Louisville. The food was great and we all ate way too much!
Now to our 4 month old delightful Eliza! This little girl has just bloomed this month! She is such a doll, she is really getting into her little routine and she is so happy.. She has mastered rolling front to back and has just started rolling back to front.. but has quickly discovered that she can get where she wants to go by rolling! (This means no more leaving her unattended on the couch/bed)

she is starting to sit up with less support and has started to laugh, it is the cutest thing in the whole world! Nothing better than hearing a baby giggle for the first time! She is still growing like crazy and is starting to wear a few clothes Mila just barely grew out of! I'm starting to understand why moms are always wanting time to stop/slow down. Love this little girl so much!

This year I am especially grateful for our little family and my wonderful husband.  Our Heavenly Father has blessed us so much.  I am looking forward to seeing what he has in store for us this next year!

TROIS

Baby Eliza is 3 months old!

Eliza had another great month full of milestones! She is starting to "baby talk" all the time, she loves interacting. She will hold onto little baby toys and can even pick them up (if they have easy to grasp holes in them) she loves to smile and is starting to let out little giggles! (Not quite laughing yet) but she is a very happy baby! She is starting to roll over from her tummy to her back (we haven't witnessed the roll over yet, but we have left her on her tummy and found her on her back) - she is very strong!

She loves bath time, doesn't like going in her carrier but loves riding in the car. Loves watching people, enjoys social gatherings. White noise puts her to sleep, she usually sleeps through the night waking up once around 3 am for a diaper change and to eat.  She is so much fun we love having her in our family!

This month was Eliza's first halloween she was a "sweet pea" mila was a "princess" together they were the princess and the pea.. That was my favorite fairy tale as a kid. They were both adorable!

Fall is in full force at our house, mila has had fun playing in the leaves! It's so much fun to watch her discover the world! She is learning and growing so much every day! We love her!

DEUX

Baby Eliza is 2 months old!

Eliza's 2 mo dr appointment:
Ht: 23.25 in
Wt: 12lb 4oz
Head: 39.1cm
85th percentile on the growth chart

Mila also had her 15 mo dr appointment:
Ht: 28.75 in
Wt: 18lb 11oz
Head: 45.1cm
3rd percentile on the growth chart

Wow, I can't believe another month has gone by! This month I'm feeling like we might need to do a whole family update: We are all working hard and living life to the fullest! I knew eliza was going to add spunk to our lives she was super crazy and active in utero!  Now that she's here not only is she active and very very strong, she also seems to be our little social butterfly (she smiles at everyone).

Ever since she was born our lives have been busy busy busy.  Maybe it has something to do with Jeff starting his last year of law school and working at his internship 3 days a week and being in the bishopric and me staying home with the girls during the week and working weekends at the hospital while Jeff watches the girls!

It is incredible that even though she came at such a busy time she has had no trouble keeping up with us at all!  In fact I think she is growing up too fast.  I'm having a hard time keeping up with her!  She doesn't look like a newborn anymore.  She loves experiencing new things and she loves going on walks/being outside. She loves playing with her activity center especially the one with the big piano keyboard to kick at the bottom.  She has really strong legs and kicks really hard! When I hold her up she likes to lock out her legs and can hold up a good amount of her own weight already (I'm predicting an early walker)

Mila is getting really comfortable around her now, I have to remind her all the time not to hug baby Liza too hard. It is cute to see how in 2 short months they have already formed such a sweet bond. I catch Eliza watching Mila all the time too.  Mila wakes up and as soon as we head out of her room she starts looking for baby Liza and whispers "shhh" with her finger in front of her lips because I usually tell her to "shhh, be quiet because Baby Liza is still sleeping."

Mila is 15 months now and has started mimicking our words and actions its fun to hear and see her version of us. She calls elmo "Melmo" and watermelon sounds like "atrmelala" she has learned the word "no" she says it long and drawn out and she likes to point her finger and shake it at the object that is being "naughty".  She is getting more brave about waving to strangers but is still pretty shy.  She has 6 teeth (4 on top, 2 on bottom.) People always ask how old she is when they see her walking around, they are surprised because she is so petite they say they would have guessed she was younger. Everyone loves her because she is such a cute, sweet, little doll.  I love my baby girls.

It wouldn't be a full family update if I didn't include Nixon and Nikita!  I must say that they are adjusting to life with babies considerably well. They do miss the one on one attention we used to give them, but they have learned that toddlers can be fun to chase around the house and are an easy target when they have food. Mila loves to tease them with her snacks, she holds her hand out and as soon as they show interest she pulls her hand away and starts running.  As she runs away she giggles her head off because she thinks she is so funny.

So I will say this little Ebert fam is doing great! We are busy but the blessings are incredible! It's amazing what Heavenly Father can do when we have faith and turn our lives over to him. I am so grateful for the love and support from all of our family and friends... we love you all!

UN

So proud to announce that our little Eliza Jane is now 1 month old! Time has flown. Feels like we just finished Milas first year of updates (oh wait we just did!) ha ha..

Well Eliza is doing great! She is growing very fast. She is sleeping well at night usually just waking up once to eat! She is  pretty mellow and we catch her smiling a lot! She is becoming more alert and likes to look around at everything. She really seems to like music.

              2 week dr appointment
           Wt: 8lb 12 oz : 70th %
            Ht: 20.78 in : 70th %
            Head: 36.5 cm: 85th %

We think she looks a lot like her mama did as a baby:
     (Jen at 2 months)

Little Eliza:

It has been fun watching Mila start to interact with her. Mila likes to pet her softly on the top of her head and give her kisses (sometimes when she gives Eliza a kiss she licks her instead of kissing her) we think Mila might think she is a new puppy rather than her new sister!

Grammy Tami got them some adorable matching outfits.. But It's hard to get good pictures of them together they are both very wiggly girls!

Mila is 14 months old.  she loves her little hello kitty couch, she likes having her own little spot to sit in the living room! She also likes to climb all over it she has become very active!

She is understanding so many things, she loves to read books and to make animal sounds. She likes to dance and sing. She likes to watch "eebee baby" on my iphone. She loves when her dad chases her around the house!

She has learned to throw dirty diapers in the garbage which has come in really handy I don't even have to ask her to do it! Such a big helper! (Sometimes she gets confused and throws clothes and other non-garbage items in.. and says "uh-oh") She is such a doll and we absolutely adore her!

We are learning that life is a little different with two babies as you would expect:  lots of diaper changing, lots of feeding, lots of messes, lots of crying- mom and dad included! lots of hugs and kisses, lots of laughing! It is definitely a balancing act! But so much fun! Loving life with our 2 little girls!

Blue Light Special

Eliza had a check-up with her pediatrician today. Everything was normal except she had high levels of bilirubin. Nothing to cause much alarm, she just needs to spend some time in the tanning bed.

We were able to bring this bed with lights home for her to sleep in. Hopefully one night, possibly two, and her levels of bilirubin will return to normal. She doesn't seem to mind it and is looking forward to the nice tan afterwards. We're just glad she can be at home and doesn't have to be readmitted to the hospital.

Welcome Home

Nothing more enjoyable than bringing a newborn baby home. We were all excited, especially Mila to welcome our new addition last Saturday.

Mila loves her little sister; she watches her with great curiosity and will give her kisses when given the opportunity. What a wonderful pair of sisters these two make.

And Then There Were Four

Eliza Jane Ebert
August 1, 2013, 8:06 a.m.
7 lbs. 14 oz., 20 in.

Welcome to this world, Eliza. You have no idea how excited we have all been for you to come into our lives. We love you so much and are happy to have you here.

The entire procedure went very well. They say experience counts and I can tell you that Jen seems like an old pro at this stuff. She did exceptionally well during the C-section and the initial bonding encounter was beautiful. Currently her and Eliza are sleeping after such an ordeal. Nice work, Jen. You're such a great mother and I know Eliza is already happy to be in your arms.
